Spies Like Us
Today Steve and I were allowed to sit in on a visit between the four kids we are potentially adopting and their Grandma and older brother. We were able to see them through a one-way mirror so they didn't even know we were there. They are so adorable! I wanted to run in there and scoop them up in a giant hug. They are also active, but show me any group of 4 kids that isn't. I don't think they are overly active. We were a little concerned with how Oliver was going to behave, as the only information we have this far is that he is receiving in-home specialized therapy for some reason. It seems that maybe his current foster placement is a little overwhelmed by an exuberant 5 year old boy. No major issues, maybe some ADHD, but it's not like we haven't dealt with that before. Rosa is 6 and in first grade. She is smart and sassy. Theresa is 3 and is a little firecracker. The girls are definitely not prissy girly-girls. They can hold their own against their brothers, which will work well for them here also. Little Edson is so cute. Even though he is only 4 months younger than Liam, he seems much less "big kid." He receives in-home speech therapy but it is not expected to be something he cannot overcome. He was raised primarily Spanish but since the kids have been in care he has been only in English speaking homes. Hopefully more information will become available as the caseworker sifts through the mountains of paperwork on these kids.
