Random Conversations

While we were hanging out at Leta's house today to escape the construction chaos over here in the basement, Oliver came over from in the woods to let me know the other kids were "house wrestling." House wrestling, it turns out, is the same as rough-housing, in case you were wondering.

Owen had speech tonight. On the way home he asked me if he had Bible School (VBS) tomorrow. I told him he did. He replied, "I just hate it. It's so boring." I asked if he liked any part of it, expecting him to say snack time and recess were OK. He said he liked leaving the best. Everyone else loves it.

Oh, and no babysitter for the little boys this week. (insert Swiper voice, "Oh, man...") My favorite (because she can drive here herself) is on vacation with her family, and our other babysitter is volunteering (ugh, goody two shoes) at VBS this week. Works out though, since so far it's been crazy busy with our contractor and his employees loading in supplies and hammering all day. The workers are kind of like babysitters anyway. Every time one of them goes back out to the truck Eddie and Liam run to the front window to hold conversations with them. Liam has interrogated our contractor about what he was drinking (water) and where he got it (the store) and why (he was thirsty). Maybe they will throw in free padded walls, either for the kids or me, it wouldn't matter.
