Saturday we went to Nani's house, but before we left, Matthew needed a trip to the ER. He had been trying to start a fire by rubbing 2 sticks together and his hand slipped and he cut his thumb on a rock. 4 stitches later we got to Nani's house in time for the egg hunt there.
These pictures are all from our house Easter Sunday.
Earlier in the day we loaded up the vans and went to the river for a bike ride. Steve took Rosa, Owen, and Oliver. Matthew was too afraid his thumb might hurt, so he walked with me and helped guide Eddie, Liam, and Teresa on their bikes with training wheels. Steve's group went off ahead. My group took a break by the boat launch area. The kids were busy throwing little pebbles into the water when Liam, who was right beside me, jumped in. He actually lost his balance and jumped feet first to avoid smashing his face on the rocks, but either way, he was drenched. And crying. But unhurt. I was laughing. Both groups met back on the playground for a picnic lunch. But I left my camera on the kitchen counter.
Teresa is doing well in school and is eager to start Kindergarten in September.
Rosa will be making her First Communion in May. She is very excited for that. She is doing really well in school also.
Eddie was just a little hyped up on sugar. He had eaten so much candy at Nani's house that while Aunt Abbie watched the youngest 5 Saturday night so we could go the the Easter Vigil Mass, he puked all over his bed. Abbie can just consider it some extra job training, seeing as she is studying to be a nurse. Thanks Aunt Abbie!!!
Here's a good photo of Oliver, the crabby egg hunter. He was mad Owen kept finding all the eggs. Owen kept running all around the yard, which is why I don't have a picture of him to share. Do you like how he tattooed his eyelids? Apparently Oliver found old tattoos from a Happy Meal somewhere.
Below maybe the best Easter picture ever...Liam, getting ready to hurl because he ate too much candy. He actually tossed his egg bucket aside and said he had enough eggs, crawled a few inches, then laid down. And although he thought he was going to puke then, he did not. He saved that for later...all over his bed for me to clean up.
The Easter Bunny was too generous this year. I'll have to remember that.
